NABBED: Fake ASP, 64 Suspected Armed Robbers Arrested

Kaduna State Police Command yesterday paraded a fake Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and 64 other suspected armed robbers, who were arrested for various offences ranging from kidnapping, car snatching and printing of fake Nigerian currencies.
Parading the suspects at the police command headquarters in Kaduna while addressing newsmen, the state Commissioner for Police, Umar Shehu, showed newsmen the suspects and the items recovered from them.Items recovered included, 21 exotic vehicles, 37 arms, 360 ammunition, 10 numbers of GSM phones, 2 numbers of computer laptops, 5 number vehicle plates, 62 other dangerous weapons and 1 military uniform.The fake ASP, after interrogation, identified himself as Ayodele Adegoke, and confessed that he got the uniform from one of his brothers, who is a policeman and said it was the devil that pushed him into the act.A tanker truck loaded with weeds suspected to be Indian hemp with registration number LSD 768XM was also seized at Maraban Jos, Kaduna.“Upon thorough search of the truck, it was discovered that the truck concealed seventy sacks of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp in disguise of palm oil in all its compartments”, he said.
