The doctor who shared his experience with newsmen on condition of anonymity, saying that he did not want to be visited again by the “ merchants of death”, said the armed bandits gained entrance into his house after incessant deafening knocks on his door accompanied with threats of deaths if he failed to open.He said that cowed by their threats ,the armed men numbering about five and fully armed , bumped into his living room, pounced on him and demanded for his handsets as well his ATM card and PIN number.According to him even after he instantly surrendered the ATM card as demanded, the gang marched him into his toilet where they locked him up.The robbers, he added, tied his two daughters to the burglary proof of his door to prevent them from running out to inform the neigbourhood while the wife was confined in one of the rooms.
He said that while one of the hoodlums tortured him even with threats of death to disclose where his money was and to stop shouting, he continued to shout at the top of his voice which apparently attracted neighbours who sent a distress call to the neighbourhood watch and the police.
