“On February 14, 2015, my friend Abbey (Biodun) called me for a robbery operation. I told him I am not used to robbery. He said it was simple that nothing will happen to us. I told him that we may be caught; he said that they will not catch us. Eventually, when we got to the scene of operation, the Chemist man started shouting ole ole. Biodun ran and entered the machine and Sodiq drove off. Both of them escaped, as I wanted to escape, the community people rushed and held me.
Biodun’s gun fell off as he was escaping and I tried to pick it before I was arrested and handed over to the police”.
According to him, the incident occurred at about 9 p.m.
“Biodun is my friend, I knew him through another friend called Soji over a year ago. This is my first time of going out with him to rob. I joined him because I did not have money. I needed money to do my freedom and to further my education. I attended Coker Primary School, Coker and completed my primary education. I also attended Jubilee Modern Grammar School. I stopped at JS3. My father died and I had no sponsor anymore. My mum is still alive, she is a trader, but does not have money. We are seven in number, I am the second born from my father. My mum had two children before she got married to my father. We are five put together. I feel so bad being arrested for armed robbery. I know it is a bad business”.
