The Coordinator of GoodLuck/Sambo Campaign Organization in Jigawa, Alhaji Yusuf Alasan, narrowly escaped being lynched when he was attacked by youths who participated in the Transformation Agenda of Nigeria (TAN) sponsored campaign held in Dutse, the Jigawa state capital, over the weekend.
It was reported that youths drawn from the 27 LGA’s of the state attended the TAN sponsored campaign for President Jonathan’s re-election.
However, no one would envisage the drama that started shortly after the event was concluded.
Vanguard reports that the youths demanded for their fees after the event, but to their surprise, the coordinator asked them to drop their phone numbers as he promised payment will be made in due course and they should expect bank transaction alert.
This however didn’t go down well with the youths who accused the campaign coordinator, who also doubles as the SURE-P boss in Jigawa State of diverting their mobilization money running into millions of Naira, describing his action as betrayal and breach of trust.
The situation later worsened when the youths pounced on Alhaji Alasan and his team, as people scampered to safety, some removing their TAN branded T-shirts and Face caps.
One of Alhaji Alasan’s aides, Aminu Aminu confirmed the attack.
This will be the second attack on a PDP leader as something similar occurred in Ogun state when a chieftain of the PDP, was attacked by youths over an alleged money reportedly given to them by President Goodluck Jonathan for his second term re-election campaign.
