A woman has been sentenced to 219 years in prison for her role in an incestuous sex ring that ‘shared children for group sex’.Wendy Holland, 35, was part of what has been described as the largest sex ring ever uncovered in Alabama, the exposure of which saw Holland’s husband Donnie, eight relatives and three family friends charged with dozens of crimes.And Holland was stony-faced as she was convicted of crimes including sodomy and sexual abuse by Baldwin County Circuit Judge Jody Bishop.A letter read in court written by an underage female victim describes how she was ‘held down and raped as a little girl’.
‘The people who were supposed to protect me were the ones hurting me,’ she wrote.
The disappearance of 19-year-old Brittney Wood in 2012 led to a string of arrests of people believed to be part of the sex ring. Brittney remains missing and is presumed dead.Two of her uncles and an older brother pleaded guilty to sex charges, while Donnie Holland committed suicide around the time of her disappearance.
Another defendant, 50-year-old William Brownlee, was sentenced to 20 years.
