Music icon, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has pledged his support for the National Orientation Agency (NOA)’s campaign to inspire hope in the country. He made the pledge during an advocacy visit paid on him by the director general of NOA, Mr Mike Omeri, in Abuja. He noted that Nigeria is in need of people to inspire the youth and the less privileged to remain committed to the nation and retain its cherished values.Earlier, Omeri called on social icons in the country to promote non-violence before, during and after the 2015 general election as their own contribution towards supporting the growth of democracy in Nigeria.According to him, “I am here because the values you espouse, especially the love of country, is the message that we need to send out now as we prepare for the election and post election scenario. The truth is that there will be Nigeria after the election and we should send messages that give the impression that there is Nigeria.“So I plead with you to join us in creating the right message and understanding of the role of election in our national life. There is Nigeria after election,” he said.
