PDP primaries: Jonathan meets ‘defeated’ Reps


PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan, on Tuesday, met with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members in the House of Representatives who lost their re-election bid in the just-concluded primaries in the country. Nigerian Tribune gathered that the president met with the House members at 3.00 p.m. at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, with a view of finding solution to the case of some of the members with good case. Present at the meeting, held inside the new Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, were the national chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu and the national deputy chairman, Uche Secondus.
The members were led to the meeting by the Deputy Speaker, Honourable Emeka Ihedioha and the Majority Leader, Honourable Mulikat Adeola-Akande.
Meanwhile, governors elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) met in Abuja, on Tuesday night, to deliberate on critical matters affecting the party.
The meeting, which took place at Akwa Ibom State Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, was presided over by chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Godswill Akpabio.
