He said he was satisfied with the result of the APC presidential primaries was won by former head of state General Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as a committed leader who possesses the required credentials to make positive change in Nigeria.
The governor said he considers Buhari’s victory as if it were his own because the former head of state had publicly recommended him as the best alternative among the other contestants.
“I’m happy that I came second in the contest but I feel as if I’m the one who won the primaries because General Buhari has publicly told the world that if it is not me then it must be Kwankwaso. This has made me really proud,” he said.
Kwankwaso promised to support Buhari to succeed in the 2015 general elections, saying the former military leader would have better strategies to tackle the insecurity ravaging parts of the country.
