”He said the federal government is determined to wipe out the scourge which was brought into the country by a Liberian-American, Patrick Sawyer, adding that the containment of the spread of the disease shows that government is capable of securing the well being of the society.On security, Omeri urged for support by Nigerians for the federal government in the fight against terror and insurgency, saying the armed forces and other security agencies were making steady progress to stamp out terrorism in the country.According to him, the local communities and all citizens have a role to play by being security conscious and working in concert with security forces in terms of information sharing to ensure a more secured country.
Omeri said the community sensitisation will see community mobilisation officers visiting village squares, churches.and mosque, markets and other public squares to engage members of the public on the subject matter.Others who spoke at the event were the representative of the Department of State Security, Steve Ajege, the Dean of School of Health Technology at Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Professor Ikechi Dozie, Health Desk Officer in NOA, Dr. Femi Ayoola and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Imo state on security, Mr. Okechukwu Okorocha .
