ACM Nwokolo who stated this when he led officers of the zone to the state secretariat of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on a courtesy visit said, with availability of right equipment to work with, such as towing vehicles, speed reader and alcoholizer, there would be significant reduction in road crashes, saying “enough is enough”.He also lamented that the level of response the FRSC was getting especially from commercial drivers was not commensurate with the free education and awareness campaigns they have been offering, hence there was no other option than to embark on strict enforcement.He said, “We are sending a signal in this zone that enough is enough. Road crash is killing people more than any pandemic in Nigeria. Anyone caught violating any traffic rules will be sactioned accordingly no matter how highly placed such a person might be.“We recorded 728 deaths on these roads between January and August this year which is unacceptable to us. So we are seeking healthy collaboration with Nigerian journalists. We need you to help us sensitise people in order to collectively make our roads safer while we brief you on monthly basis on progress we make.
