APGA can’t lead Igbo to promise land —Gov Orji

Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State, in Umuahia, yesterday, said the insinuation that All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, was a sign of Igbo unity was only a wishful  thinking by those using the name of the late leader of Ndigbo, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu,  to feed fat at the detriment of their scanty followers.The governor in a statement through his Special Adviser on Public Communication, Mr. Ben Onyechere, said the people saying they would win the South East in the 2015 general elections, deserved pity as were not only naive but also retrogressive and reminded the rest of the nation that Ndigbo did not desire progress and development of their region.
The governor siad: “Against the backdrop of the statement attributable to APGA national  chairman in Abia that he will win the state, it is now pertinent to remind them that Ojukwu had left APGA before he died, which was the reason his wife was appointed as Nigerian ambassador to Spain .“Time has past when a few people will hoodwink the Igbo for selfish reasons with untenable lies because there is abounding evidence to prove that we are still  lagging behind in infrastructure development and do not need any body to deceive our people any more.“History has shown that Igbo are on their own when it comes to opposition politics as no other part of Nigeria is ready to join us in any struggle.“The Igbo have paid their dues and suffered enough. The only way an Igbo man will be President is when we continually collaborate with the majority because politics is a game of numbers and not based on sentiment.
