Imo APC State party Chairman beats Treasurer to stupor

As Imo APC inauguration ends in fiascoThe newly constructed Imo International Conference Centre, IICC, venue of the State All Progressive Congress (APC) inauguration last Friday, suddenly turned into a wrestling ring with the state party chairman, Dr. Hilary Ekeh beating the elected state treasurer, Hon. Mrs. Blessing Nwachukwu ‘black & blue’ with several slaps and blows
.Eye witness account has it that the real cause of the physical battering was quite unclear as the attention of most of the party faithful shifted towards the horrible scene thundering shouts of pain, cries and noise dominated the Conference Centre, changing the hitherto happy mood to mournful scenario.When Frontline Express visited Mrs. Nwachukwu at the Umezuruike Hospital where she was receiving treatment on Saturday, the swollen-faced woman who said she can not with left ear uptil then narrated her agonizing ordeal in the hands of the state party chairman, Dr. Hilary Ekeh and Mrs. Stella Ekelado, whgovernor Rochas Okorocha, as the state party leader, frowned at illegality and ordered it’s correction before inauguration.The refusal to obey the return to reversal order may have propelled governor Okorocha, the State leader of the party to ignore the alleged doctored list during the inauguration of last Friday.
Most party stalwarts who spoke to Frontline Express condemned the situation where the party chairman could condescend so low to engage in physical assault on a fellow party faithful, worst still a woman.It was also revealed that Governor Okorocha received the news with great surprise and promised to address the matter urgently.Attempts to get the reaction of the state party chairman, Dr Hilary Ekeh failed as he did not respond to text messages sent to him.o jointly descended on her with slaps and blows even when there was no history previous misunderstanding capable of causing such barbaric attack.In her words “Hilary Ekeh wanted to kill me if not for God who saved because I can’t remember having seen him that day or exchanged words with him any day”, Mrs. Nwachukwu lamented.Continuing, Mrs Nwachukwu said “the governor just finished the inauguration and we were all coming down from the podium when Ekeh and Stella may be it was arrangement pounced on me with slaps and blows that left me half dead”.It could be recalled that Frontline Express has been following the APC Congress and its development. This development, therefore could be an extension of the raging battle brewed as a result of the doctoring some names of those who allegedly won the elections at the state party’s congress for the office of the party Treasurer and Auditor who were reportedly shortchanged with some others who did not contest elections for those offices, for which
