The President elect, Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday assured women of fair representation in his administration. He gave this assurance while receiving in audience a delegation of women led by the All Progressives Congress national women Leader, Ramatu Ali, in Abuja.Buhari explained that the absence of women from his transition committee was not intentional because the committee was assembled in a hurry.
He observed that there were, however, women in the committees which had been set up.
Buhari further explained that he has taken into account the importance of women in the society.
While expressing gratitude to women for their votes, he noted the contributions by various women groups across the country.
Buhari gave a hint about his plans to rehabilitate the women and children who are victims of the activities of the Boko Haram sect.
He said, “Looking at the human aspect, if you watch the people coming from Sambisa forest and others that escaped, you will discover that they are women and children and the women are left to take care of the children.
“The men have either been killed or have escaped. So, really, government attention in looking after women and children will have to be practical because they have been left with the responsibility of bringing up the children at the critical stage of their lives.”
I don't believe in mere words,,am waiting to see ur impact
