The Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, has lamented that while the Igbos have over 70 per cent of their investments outside their homeland, non-Igbos had not deemed it necessary to come to the South-East to invest.
The royal father, who spoke yesterday at the inaugural conference and presentation of a two-volume book: “Igbo Nation: History and Challenges of Rebirth and Development” at Igbozurume Unity Centre in Enugu, advised his people to act on the many good ideas they have.
While enjoining Igbos to think home instead of developing other lands where they sojourn, Igwe Achebe observed that the spread of Igbos and their investments in other lands have attracted them envy and hatred as was seen in the recent Xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
He was emphatic that the Igbos must develop their domain educationally, commercially, as well as direct politicians on how they want to be governed.

ReplyDeletethis call is too late. besides,,.. what are the arrangement to stem the insecurity,, kidnapping,,, selling of human meat restaurants,, 419ers.,, ritual killings in the quest to make money, otokoto,,,, hire assasinations., fake money washing..,, juju attacks.... deadly armed robbery...,, back biting,,, wickedness and refusal to lease lands in IGBO LAND...??? I am an Igbo land but I feel more safe outside Igbo land and I am not alone in this,.... Many igbos fear going home because their kinsmen at home are too jealous on how rich or successful they have become and they are easily targeted by these jealous kinsmen who feel that they have come home to make shakara for them with their wealth..... a Yoruba man don't care how rich you are,, he only cares for his house rent, even though he increases it outrageously,, it is my wish that Igbos can start loving themselves and develop their land for their own benefit and that of their next generations to come, but our hearts are as poisonous as their deadly black mamba... when will these wickedness stop... igbos frustrating fellow igbos in many places in Nigeria and outside..... when can the igbos vote in Nigeria politics as the Hausas or the yorubas do.. we the igbos usually accuse the yorubas of being too tribalistic, today, this tribalistic attitude is the main reason yorubas have outgrown the igbos in Nigerian politics.... an Igbo man would rather frustrate his fellow igbos man in Nigerian politics than let him win anything,, some years ago, igbos were told to carve out a new state out of igboland and signed by the federal govt to add to the 5 states already in Igbo land, that didn't happen because no part of Igbo land was ready to concede to another part in the creation of the new state,, every state wants to have that new state to themselves.... for that, no agreement was reached and it was abandoned. , igbos are the worst people in Nigeria... achike udenwa ruled imo state for 8 years without a single achievement to show for it...
ReplyDeletewell,1.i will start by saying that you are not Igbo.2.you listen to yoruba craps about the igbo.3 you are a fool to still believe yorubas, the same craps that they told niger delta just to divide us more.4.No tribe does ritualism more than the yorubas.5.You go to yoruba church, not knowing that those yoruba pastors use charm.5.you don't love ursef, cus if u do,u would love ur fellow igbo and know that he/she aint ur problem.6.maybe you have invested heavily in yorubaland thats why ur lamenting.7.minimize the way you watch home movies, everything you see there ain't true.8 yoruba home video is worst than what's shown on nollywood movies which are mostly of igbo culture and tradition but not all is not true.
