Don’t tamper with Ekwunife’s mandate, group warns Obiano

As the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) strives to wrest the senatorial mandate from the winner of the March 28 senatorial election in Anambra Central, Mrs Uche Ekwunife of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a group under the aegis of Arrived Councilors Forum (ACF) has cautioned the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano against his alleged moves to scuttle the mandate given to the senator-elect for the senatorial zone.
The Director General of the Forum, Chief Chuks Anaje warned the governor that further actions aimed at thwarting the mandate the people of Anambra Central senatorial zone “massively and overwhelmingly” gave to Ekwunife would be stoutly resisted by the group.

He said the group was made up of all the aggrieved councillors who participated in the last local government and councillorship elections in the state on the platform of the APGA and were shortchanged by the leadership of the party, adding that they had vowed to make sure that nobody would thwart the mandate given to Ekwunife.

Chief Anaje further lamented that despite the money and other resources they wasted during the last chairmanship and councillorship election, they were allegedly defrauded by the leadership of the party, and said their decision to support Ekwunife was in the interest of the people of the zone and Anambra state in general.
