General Muhammadu Buhari, who is contesting for the presidential seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has spoken about his views on the delayed polls, the Boko Haram insurgency, and problems facing Nigeria, in an interview with Al-Jazeera.General Buhari has spoken about the situation with the postponement of elections, saying that his party and it’s supporters will abide by the law.Also, in the 25-minute-long video he gives the reasons why the Nigerian government is unable stop the Boko Haram insurgency. The APC presidential candidate accused the federal government of not properly protecting Nigerians.He said: “The government has failed to do is principal duty to protect the life and property of all beings inside its territory in Nigeria.”Gen Buhari said he will investigate why the Nigerian military have been so undermined by Jonathan’s government, if he wins the election. He also mentioned that the efforts of the present Jonathan-led administration are not good enough on the Chibok girls’ abduction. Buhari wonders why Jonathan’s government is yet to come out and explain why the abducted Chibok girls have not been rescued.Gen Buhari repeatedly emphasises that the APC will ask its supporters to remain calm and peaceful.
