The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Rivers State, Prince Tonye Princewill has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of lacking ideologies.
Princewill, who made the accusation in Port Harcourt yesterday while speaking at a forum organised by the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Rivers State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), vowed never to return to the PDP.
Princewill, who dumped the PDP shortly after the party’s gubernatorial primaries that saw the emergence of former minister of state for education, Nyesom Wike, stated that he refused to join the APC because he saw that the party’s sole aim was to fight President Goodluck Jonathan.
He said, “I parted ways with Governor Rotimi Amaechi because he wanted to prosecute a war against President Goodluck Jonathan.
“Amaechi’s fight against President Jonathan was not with purpose. The fight resulted in Governor Amaechi leaving the PDP for the APC.
“If I had joined Amaechi to the APC, maybe I would have gotten the party’s governorship ticket but I did not want the APC ticket, because the APC was fighting President Goodluck Jonathan,” Princewill added.Princewill, however, promised to complete all ongoing genuinely conceived projects that may be left uncompleted by the Amaechi administration.
