External Forces Hindering Chibok Girls Rescue – Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan has attributed the inability of his government to rescue the Chibok girls to interferences from external forces which are sabotaging the federal government’s effort.Jonathan, who made the assertion while speaking to the Shehu of Borno, blamed the non-rescue of the 219 girls abducted from Chibok on April 14 to external forces (which he did not define) and promised to do everything possible to end insurgency in the nearest future.Speaking on the menace of insurgency in the state, the president noted that through initiatives like the Victim Support Fund, Presidential Initiative for North-east and Safe School Initiative, his administration would rebuild the areas affected by the insurgency after the government ends it.He also vowed that his administration would rebuild and redesign Borno State in such a way that children will have access to education and better future, while budgetary allocation to the affected states will also be increased.“We feel the pain of Borno people. I personally feel more pained when people accuse me of of being involved in the problem for some political advantage.”I have said it many times that my ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian. And I don’t think any president or human being can do what they accuse me of doing. The Boko Haram problem is what I thought we would have ended long ago but may be external influence or interest is affecting us,” the president said. The president, however, assured the Borno people that it will not take more than a few months to end this insurgency, restore peace to Borno and get the Chibok girls back.
