Students of Ekiti State University (EKSU) rioted against the administration of one of its member schools on Monday.Full-time students of the Ekiti State University affiliate programme in Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, Noforija, Epe, Lagos, rioted over the nonchalant attitude of the college management towards the students.It was reported that the riot was over the college’s failure to present students’ results to the Senate of EKSU for approval, preventing the affected students from obtaining certificates.Despite the presence of the Nigeria Force, some students continued the violence, and some were brutally injured.
It will be recalled that Redeemers University, which is owned by the Redeemed Christian Church Of God led by Pastor E. A. Adeboye, is in the news for a disciplinary measure which is widely considered excessive in the manner it allegedly punished 22 of the students.According to an unconfirmed report, the 22 students were said to have not attended church services and were suspended.SEE PHOTOS
