The accident, it was said happened at a construction point on the highway which led to a traffic gridlock as motorists could only ply on two out of the four lanes. The governor was said to have alighted from his vehicle to assist the passengers. However, the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Alhaji Yusuph Olaniyonu, confirmed the incident but said that none of the governor’s aides sustained injury neither the occupants of the bus. “The accident involved one rickety commercial bus which reportedly rammed into the governor’s convoy. “It was just a minor accident, no one sustained injury. We are going to Ekiti. Only one jeep was affected and we have transferred the occupants to our own bus,” he said.
