He allegedly drew a cutlass and slashed the throat of the victim identified as Lizzy (surname withheld). Police authorities in the area confirmed that the suspect is currently helping the police with further investigation after his attempt to escape was foiled by neighbours, who rushed to the scene of the incident.
Family sources said that the suspect had been on the wanted list of the police since four years ago when he committed the same offence and escaped to the northern part of the country.
