A
retired Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) at the weekend shot himself dead
after killing his wife and son at the Sango Ota area of Ogun State.

was gathered that the late ACP, his wife and other family members attended a
wedding ceremony of a friend’s son and arrived home, only to later accused his
wife of being drunk at the ceremony, which he said was disgraceful.Continue...
The wife was said to have denied his accusation, saying even though she drank, she did not misbehave and an argument ensued and degenerated into a serious fight. The man was angry that his wife was having the upper hand and ran for his pump action rifle and fired his wife and son, then turned the rifle on himself.
Police at the Olusegun Obasanjo station in Sango Ota said preliminary investigation showed that the man and his wife used to have frequent domestic fights, and were even tired of settling them. Police spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said investigation was in progress.
