No going back on President’s endorsement –says Bode George

George said this in Lagos at the grand finale of the South-West PDP Women empowerment programme organised by the Leader, House of Representatives, Mrs. Mulikat Akande-Adeola.
Speaking at the event, attended by other PDP leaders in Lagos as well as women leaders in the Sosuth-West, George said it was also legitimate for Jonathan to contest for a second term in office as he had done a lot for the people of the South-West in particular and Nigeria in general.
He said the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, had predicted that an Ijaw man would one day rule Nigeria
He said, “I want to appeal to my brothers who are opposed to President Jonathan’s endorsement by the party leadership for a second term because it is divine. Let him (Jonathan) also do what is legitimate, it is constitutional.”
George, who said the President’s record of achievements was also there for people to see in the areas of job creation, rehabilitation of infrastructure and women empowerment, thanked the crowd of women that gathered at the event for their support and appealed to them to campaign for the PDP next year.

“Every one of you needs to go out and canvass for support for all our candidates from the president to councillors,” he said.
In her speech, Akande-Adeola said the empowerment, which she commenced about 18 months ago, was a way of appreciating the women who had consistently stood behind the PDP.
The lawmaker, who noted that this was the first a woman was holding the position she is occupying now, appealed to them to take the bull by the horns and come out to vie for more political positions.
