In August 2010 his mother Lynn Kanebi and his brother’s girlfriend Nicola Rushworth stood trial accused of helping Okafor to leave the county, after it emerged he fled to Nigeria using his brother’s name and passport. They were both found innocent.  His younger brother Junior had earlier pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice. Nigerian authorities arrested Okafor on Tuesday Septmeber 23, and the Met police have said arrangements are being made for his return to the UK. The arrest follows an appeal from Asiedu’s family on August 1 this year, asking people to come forward with information that would help to track Okafor down. Asiedu’s friend Peter Lama survived after being stabbed in the back on the night of  the exchanges outside Club Night. Three men surrounding Asiedu the night he was attacked were found guilty of violent disorder in May 2011.
