Protect yourself, Aliyu tells corps members

FOLLOWING the widespread of the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease in the country, Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu on Tuesday cautioned corps members to protect themselves against the disease at their place of primary assignment.
Aliyu made this known at the closing ceremony of the 2014 Batch ‘B’ Orientation Course in Paiko Local Government Area.
He said the state government had directed health care agencies to educate corps members on the preventative measures against the deadly disease during their service year.

Aliyu enjoined corps members to be proactive in contributing to the development of their host communities and the country at large.

“You owe it a duty to your parents and the society to continue to imbibe the culture of good behaviour and responsible lifestyle any where you are.

“It is important to know that your service year requires selfless sacrifice from you. I charge you to allow the lesson learnt during the orientation course to guide you through the realities of life outside the camp,” he said.

The governor also said that the country is currently faced with insecurity, defranchise and the newly imported Ebola disease, adding that the state government would protect corps members from any unpleasant circumstances.
