“Kwankwaso should spend the remainder of his tenure to deliver on his failed promises to kano people -Presidency


THE Presidency, yesterday, tongue‑lashed Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano State for accusing President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration of running a government based on ethnic sentiment and religious bigotry.The Kano governor, in an interview with newsmen, weekend, in his office, argued that the real cause of insecurity in the country was bad leadership, adding that the inability of President Jonathan to tackle the issue of insurgency has exposed Jonathan’s incompetence to preside over the affairs of Nigeria.
In his reaction, yesterday, the Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on Public Affairs.
Dr. Doyin Okupe, said Governor Kwankwaso must be must in lacking mentally while commenting on national issues.According to him:

 “Rather than expose himself continuously to public ridicule, Governor Kwankwaso should spend his remaining period as governor in delivering on his failed promises to the people of Kano state.”In a text message to Vanguard, yesterday, Dr. Doyin Okupe, who accused governor Kwankwaso of having local mentality, stressed that the President was not running a clannish government.

Okupe said: “Kwankwaso must try to be cerebral when commenting on national issues. The “kwankwasiya” mentality may work for him locally in Kano, but definitely will not carry him far on the national platform.
“President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is not running a clannish government, neither is he playing any religious card.“Are the ministers of Finance, Agriculture, Inspector General of Police; Group Managing Director of NNPC; Chief Justice of Nigeria; Chief of Staff and Principal Secretary; Special Adviser, Adviser, Media in the Presidency Ijaws or from the South South extractions?
“Kwankwaso should spend the remainder of his tenure to deliver on his failed promises to Kano people instead of exposing himself continuously to public ridicule.
