Governor Kwankwaso declares Intention To Run For President In 2015

The Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has reportedly declared his intention to run for the post of president on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).It was gathered by PM News from a reliable source that the Kano State Governor declared his presidential ambition in a meeting he held with members of the House of Representatives from his state some days back. Also, the governor is seeking the support and cooperation of members of the state House of Reps in wooing their colleagues to his side since the presidential primary of the party is going to be done directly involving all members of the party.
The Kano Reps members are said to have swung into action and are already trying to woo their colleagues from other states on the need to support Kwankwaso’s ambition. They have also pledged their support for the presidential ambition of their governor.According to findings, Kwankwaso has a bright chance at contesting for the post of president being that he has political experience and is also favoured by the zoning arrangement of the party which according to investigations may pick its presidential candidate from the northwest zone of the country. It was also gathered that leaders of the APC from the northwest geopolitical zone, have started making moves to ensure that the presidential ticket of the party is clinched by a candidate from the north. The 2015 general elections is barely 7 months away and the political parties are gearing up to outshine each other. The two strongest parties, the PDP and the APC are yet to officially announce who their flag bearers for the presidential election will be.There has however been insinuations that Gen. Buhari, may likely emerge the APC candidate while President Jonathan will re-contest on the platform of the PDP.The All Progressives Congress (APC) had announced that it would start its primary elections in October 2014, to enable them nominate a presidential candidate for the 2015 general election.
