Buhari plans military shake-up, angry with DSS

There are indications that President Muhammadu Buhari may carry out a major shake-up in the top echelons of the military.It was learnt that service chiefs and other senior officers across the various arms of the military might be relieved of their posts to pave way for new hands.Findings showed that Buhari would replace the service chiefs with equally experienced officers.

On Tuesday, May 2, 16 year old Kafayat Bello was beaten mercilessly by her father, Ibrahim Bello, who is a commercial bus driver. She said he whipped her till she could not walk and then he plugged their pressing iron and burnt her multiple times, inflicting severe injuries all over her body.

FG bans paramilitary agencies from use of camouflage uniforms; restricts use to only the military

The use of camouflage uniforms by various security agencies other than the Armed Forces namely; Army, Navy and the Air Force has been banned. The Nigerian Police will however use the uniform when in Joint Operation with the military or on special operation such as specific anti-riot missions. This followed the directive of the National Security Council, as it approved the recommendations of a committee on measures to streamline the use of camouflage uniforms, in view of the security implications and concerns raised on the clamour, duplicity and proliferation of camouflage uniforms in the country.

Housewife sentenced to death by hanging in Makurdi for the murder of her 1yr old step son

                       
A Makurdi High Court Judge, Justice Jennifer Ijohor, on Thursday June 11th, sentenced a housewife, Mrs Ternenge Tersoo, to death by hanging for the murder of her 1year-old step son, Pineter Tersoo.Mrs Tersoo of Mbayegh-Gaav in Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue was found guilty of culpable homicide punishable with death under Section 221 of the Penal Code.

In May, an 18-year-old Romanian girl died as she tried to take "the ultimate selfie" on top of a train, now these 2 teenage girls are in a serious condition after being electrocuted as they tried to take a selfie on top of a train which they though was no longer in use.

The Lagos state police command has arrested a 49 year old plank seller and father, Adeboye Adesola (pictured right) for allegedly having sex with his 14 year old daughter (pictured left) who is in SS1.
The girl said she moved in with her father and his new wife in a one-room apartment in Ikorodu after she lost her mother. According to Daily Independent, the girl alleged that he first had sex with her in November 2014 and tried it again in March 2015 immediately after he separated from her stepmother. He slept with her claiming he wanted to see if she was still a virgin.

APC accepts Saraki as Senate President


The Leadership of APC has finally accepted Senator Bukola Saraki as Senate President. Speaking with newsmen in Abuja today June 12th, the party's National chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun said the party has accepted the National Assembly leadership election held on Tuesday June 9th. He said it was Senator Saraki's colleagues that elected him and that it is the reality they have come to accept. Asked specifically if the party will accept Bukola's election as Senate President, Oyegun said
"Of course! He has been duly elected by his colleagues. We have a reality and we must live with it.” He said the crisis rocking the party now will only make it stronger

Port Harcourt refinery to start production August — NNPC


The management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation on Thursday raised hopes of an end to the lingering fuel supply crisis in Nigeria.The Managing Director of the Pipeline and Products Marketing Company, Haruna Momoh, said at the moment the company had a minimum of 27 days fuel supply sufficiency level.

An 18 seat bus that left a motor park in Calabar, Cross Rivers state enroute Enugu was involved in a fatal accident at Biase Local government in Cross Rivers state yesterday morning June 11th. 17 passengers in the bus died instantly while one passenger and the bus driver survived with serious injuries. The Police arrived the scene where they helped to remove the bodies which they deposited at the mortuary. Quite sad! May their souls rest in peace, Amen. See pics from the scene. A 400L student of Chemical Engineering, department of Ladoke Akintola, University of Technology LAUTECH Ogbomosho, Fatai Kolawole, slumped while playing a novelty match organized by his Department earlier this week. According to some of his colleagues, Fatai, who was still gasping for air, was quickly rushed to School Health Center where he later died.

The guy who posted these photos on Twitter claims this black car was carrying president Buhari as he left the National Mosque in Abuja this afternoon after Jumaat prayers. There's only one other car driving beside his car; there's no siren or long convoy. If that is really him, then kudos to him. Justice S. S. Ogunsanya of the Lagos State High Court on Thursday June 11, sentenced one Osarenwinda Idahor (a.k.a Ösas Idahor) to two years imprisonment on each of the two count charge bordering on possession of document containing false pretence. 
The convict was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission sequel to a petition from NASA OIG Computer Crimes Division Goddard Space Flight Centre, United States, alleging that the suspect hacked into NASA e-mail account to send scam messages for advance fee fraud.
